Level 10 Life – The Framework That Helps You Navigate Life Intentionally
Today’s issue at a glance:
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed? You might just be missing a compass.
The Level 10 Life framework offers a holistic view of your life, helping you make better decisions with more clarity.
Define your ideal life, assess where you are now, and take small, intentional steps to close the gap.
It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing what matters most.
Ever felt like you’re doing everything and yet going nowhere?
You check the boxes. Work. Health. Family. Maybe even a bit of mindfulness on the side. And yet… you feel stuck. Like you’re spinning plates but not actually moving forward.
So what’s the problem? Too often, we’re trying to navigate life without a compass.
The Struggle Without a Compass
Life is demanding.
We’re expected to win at work, stay fit, be a present parent or partner, keep our friendships alive, and somehow still sleep enough and eat well. Oh, and maybe start a side hustle too?
It’s no wonder we sometimes feel lost. When one thing goes wrong — a failed project, a rough week at work — it can feel like the whole house is on fire. I’ve caught myself in that trap.
When something doesn’t work out the way I planned in my business, I can spiral fast. I hyper-focus on that issue, letting it overshadow my entire mood.
But then I pause. I zoom out.
And I realize: Hey… I’m showing up for my wife and kids. I’ve kept my health routines. I’ve reconnected with old friends. That one setback? It’s not everything. It’s just one piece of a much bigger picture.
That’s the power of perspective.
What Is the Level 10 Life?
The Level 10 Life is a personal growth framework first introduced in The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. It’s designed to help you take a step back, look at your life as a whole, and live with more intention and alignment.
You assess your life across 10 core areas:
Personal Growth
Health & Fitness
Family & Friends
Romance / Significant Other
Career
Finances
Spirituality
Fun & Recreation
Environment / Home
Giving / Contribution
The idea is simple:
👉 For each area, you rate your current satisfaction on a scale from 1 to 10.
👉 Then you define what a “10” would look like for you — and set goals to close the gap.

Why It Works: The Benefits of Zooming Out
This framework isn’t about perfection. It’s about perspective. And when you zoom out, amazing things happen:
🙏 Gratitude – You realize how far you’ve already come.
🎯 Focus – You stop reacting and start choosing where to grow.
✅ Clarity – You see what truly needs your energy.
🔄 Alignment – Your goals actually reflect the life you want.
Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

But Do You Really Need 10 Categories?
Honestly? That’s up to you.
When I first tried the framework, I loved the idea — but ten categories were just too much. It felt more like a chore than clarity.
So I simplified.
My 4 Life Categories:
Work & Finance
Mental & Physical Health
Family & Kids
Friends & Fun
How I Use the Level 10 Life
Here’s my personal process. It’s simple, flexible, and actionable.
Step 1: Define Your Level 10 Vision
Ask yourself:
“What would a perfect 10 look like in this area of my life?”
Write it down. Make it real. Not perfect — just ideal for you. That becomes your compass — your definition of success.
That’s what fits my life right now. And that’s the beauty of this method: It’s not about ticking someone else’s boxes. It’s about defining your own compass— your definition of success.

Step 2: Rate Your Current State
Give each area a score from 1 to 10. Be honest. No shame here. Then ask:
✅ What’s going well?
❓ What’s missing?
🎯 What goals would close that gap in the next 12 months?
I do this on paper or in Notion — it helps me reflect and make it visible.

Step 3: Review Quarterly
Once every 3 months, I revisit the map.
What improved?
What stalled?
Where should I shift my focus next?
This step keeps me anchored. It's incredibly motivating to visually track my progress across different areas. And even when struggling with one part of life, I can see the full picture — and often, it’s more balanced than I think. It’s also super motivating to visually see progress I’m making in the areas.

Your Life, Your Framework
The Level 10 Life isn’t a test. It’s not about being a 10 in everything. It’s about knowing what your 10 looks like — and taking small, conscious steps to get there.
When you have a compass, you don’t have to sprint. You just have to keep heading in the right direction.
“A better life isn’t built overnight. It’s built with clarity and consistency.”
